Fishermans Oilskins

Fishermen’s oilskins with buoyancy

In close consultation with over 300 fishermen, the ultimate work wear has been developed for all professional fishermen, whether engaged in coastal, deep sea fishing or in fish farming.

The trousers look like traditional oilskin bib and braces and are tough yet feel light, airy and extremely comfortable to wear.

The buoyancy in NOT bulky or cumbersome: it is contained in the bibs (front and back) of the trousers and will cushion the wearer’s chest and back against minor bumps and knocks.
Unlike an inflatable lifejacket, the buoyancy is fixed and won’t be damaged or compromised if it is accidentally cur or punctures.  (You don’t have to be wearing the jacket for the buoyancy to function).

The buoyancy is not dependant on the operation of gas cylinders or any other mechanical action and therefore does not need regular examination or to be sent for servicing.
The buoyancy will help keep the wearer vertical and upright in the water even if he/she is wearing an apron or jacket.

The jacket and trousers will help retain body heat (when worn with woollen underclothes) and will help prevent the clothes from becoming water logged, making it easier for the wearer to climb back aboard his/her boat.

The PVC –coated polyester material is coated with and anti oil coating to enable it to withstand hydro-carbon oils, fish-oils etc
The jacket and trousers can tolerate being hung in a drying room temperature of up to 35 degrees.
There is nothing on the front of either the jacket or the trousers to snag, for example on lines, nets or pots.
