What is Crew 2 Crew about?
Crew 2 Crew Limited is a new site that has been developed to meet the modern needs of crew members around the world. We are here to help you search for, find and communicate with other crew members, companies, former or retired colleagues, family members and loved ones.

Once you have registered and validated your account the first, and most important thing to do, is to create your personal profile, adding as much information as possible about yourself and adding details of any vessels you have sailed on. This will then allow other members to be able to find and contact you. Once you have set yourself up, you can then begin to have a look around and search for other crew members, former or retired colleagues, family members and loved ones.

Yes you can. During the registration process you will be asked which Username you would like to choose. This means that you will be able to login using your Username and Password, as opposed to using your full email address each time you want to loginto Crew 2 Crew.

This acts as an extra security feature that helps us to verify the correct email information and prevents people from entering bogus email addresses.

How do I build my profile?
You can build your profile either during the registration process and / or you can re-visit your profile at any point in the future to update it with your latest information. To do this click on Edit Profile.

To make any changes to your profile, login to your account and then select the Edit Profile option. Once you have made the desired changes, click on Save Details and the changes will be immediately updated.

Why do I have to pay to access the full features that Crew 2 Crew offer?
Whilst there are many great free resources on the internet, such as Hotmail and Facebook, they all come with hidden costs. By charging a small annual fee Crew 2 Crew can offer a service without these hidden costs.
Crew 2 Crew is one of the most secure networking sites online. By charging a small fee Crew 2 Crew prevents spam software being able to access the site, protecting your inbox from junk and malicious mail, unlike free email services.
Advertising within the Crew 2 Crew network is also kept to a minimum level, and only top level organizations are allowed to advertise to the user in order to keep the site as friendly as possible to crew members. By charging a subscription fee, there is no reliance on advertising revenue, meaning not every available space within the site has to be filled with adverts.
Another benefit from the subscription system is the availability of the best features, and the introduction of new, cutting edge features as they become available, rather than chasing to keep up with the pack as is the case with most free to access sites.

A full membership to one industry with Crew 2 Crew costs just £15*, with a second industry costing only £8*, a third just £5* and each subsequent industry free.

FREE MEMBERS can: build their profile, add vessels to their profile, search for former colleagues.
In addition to the facilities available to Free Members, FULL PAYING MEMBERS can: subscribe to our newsletters, send and receive emails from other crew mates as well as external email accounts. Have access to industry chat rooms, including two chat room pseudonyms, request new chat rooms, IM other members. Have full access to the message boards to allow members to actively contribute to the discussions, by posting replies or by adding new topics. They also have full access to the new industry directories and exchanges.

Crew 2 Crew Limited accepts payment by MasterCard, Visa, Visa Delta, Visa Electron, Switch or Solo.

As subscriptions are on an annual bases, you will be reminded when your membership is about to expire, at which point you will be able to renew your membership to your subscribed industries via the account tab in the profile section.

We use the latest SSL Security Encryption Software to ensure that all of your data is kept safe. We operate multiple Firewalls and do not store credit card details at all on our servers, as we take advantage of the PayPal secure server.

How do I login to my account?
You can login to your account from the Crew 2 Crew Homepage by selecting the Login Now option found at the top right hand corner of the navigation bar.

You can easily log out by simply clicking on the Sign out button found at the top right hand corner of the navigation bar.

If you forget your password, don't panic! Go to the Sign in page by clicking on the Sign In button on the top right hand corner of our website. Click the 'Forgotten Password' link below the Sign In box. Answer the questions that follow and your password will be reset. You can now use your new password. If you have any problems please send an email to support@crew2crew.com with details of your enquiry.

It is important that you login and out of the site every time you visit. Logging in allows you to interact with other members and lets everyone know that you are on-line. It also allows you to check on a regular basis whether you have received any new messages from other members.

It is important to Log Out when you have finished your session, as this will prevent other people from accessing your account from the computer you last logged in on.

Where are my emails?
To access your Inbox, select the Mailbox on the right under My Profile. This will open your main Inbox, containing any mail you may have sent or received.

When you have new mail, the mail tab will have a set of brackets containing the number of new emails you have. You will also be alerted in the Inbox section of the My Home page. If you have given an external email address then you will also recieve an email to say you have recieved crewmail.

To reply to a message, open the email received by going to your Mailbox and selecting the relevant message. Click on the Reply button located at the bottom of the message, enter your reply in the text box, and then click on the Send Message button. PLEASE NOTE: You must have a full membership to send or reply to messages.

To see all the messages that you have sent go to your Mailbox and select Sent. This will provide you with a list of all messages that have been sent by you.
Click Here to return to Top of page If I delete an email, will I be able to get it back?
When you delete a message from your Inbox or Sent Items folder, it is placed in your Deleted Items folder.
The message is only permanently deleted when you delete and empty your Deleted Items folder.
To select the messages that you want to permanently delete, please tick the box to the left hand side of the message and click on the Delete Message button.

You can do this by logging into Crew 2 Crew under your existing login details and you can then update your personal details, including name, address, email address, personal information and aliases.
Under My Profile click on Edit Profile and make any changes necessary. When you have updated all your details, tick the box at the bottom of the page confirming your profile has been completed and then click on Save Details to confirm the changes.

Yes you can see all other members who are in your address book. To find out who else is online go to My Profile and then to Crew Mates, which is located to the right of the page. Click on the button Crew Mates and this will show you all the members you have in your address book. You can easily see who is online by looking out for the icon next to each member's name.

Guidelines for message board use
To use the message boards, login or register, click on the my industry tab, then click on message boards. Here you will be able to explore, read and post, and also find full guidelines and instructions for the message boards.

Yes, you must have a full memberhsip to make a posting on the industry message boards, however you can post for free on the message boards of Welfare Accounts.

We're sorry if you have been disappointed by the removal of your message. Our members report many hundreds of messages to us every day through the report abusive message function.
Any member is free to report any message. Our team then reviews the message and if deemed inappropriate, it will be removed from the board.

Should you find a message within one of the rooms of the Crew 2 Crew message boards, which is of an inappropriate nature, please click on the Report button located at the top of each message. This will generate a report to the administrators of the website who will then check the message and any action deemed appropriate will be taken.
While we actively encourage members to do this, please don't misuse our report abuse function.
If the message is deemed ok by Crew 2 Crew staff, the message will not be removed.

How do I search for the vessels I served on?
To access the Vessel Search function you need to login to My Profile, where you will find under the Information Links heading on the left of the page, the link to Vessel Search.
Click Here to return to Top of page How do I add myself to a vessel?
At the bottom of the My Profile page, under My Industry Name History, you will find the link to Add A Vessel. Enter all or part of the Vessel name, leaving out prefixes such as LNG, MS, MV, RMS, SS or TT. Select a time period during which you served on the vessel, and select Search, this will then bring up a list of all the relevant Vessels. Tick the box on the right next to the relevant one, and at the bottom of the page, select the button Add to Profile.
Once you have added all relevant vessels, return to My Profile, My Industry Name History and add your sailing dates, department and rank, to enable other members to find you.
Click Here to return to Top of page How do I remove my name from a vessel?
In order to remove your name from a vessel you need to sign in, go to 'My Industry', click on the industry that you want to update vessel details for, for example Commercial Shipping. Under the 'Industry Home' tab, click 'Edit History' on the table that contains your Vessel History (you may have to scroll down if you cannot see the table). Here you can delete any records that you need to, simply by selecting the Delete Record button next to the relevant details.

There are two ways that you can search for other members.
Firstly, login, on the far right of the page, you will see a column which displays your Online and offline Contacts. Click on the magnifying glass icon and simply enter the name of the member you are trying to locate, select Search, and if they have registered with Crew 2 Crew, their details will be shown.
Secondly, to find any other crew members for your particular vessel, go to My Industry Name History, located under My Profile, and select the relevant Vessel name. This will take you to the Vessel Details. Select the option View the list of crew, located to the top right, and this will list all members who have registered to this Vessel. You can then add any member to your address book.
If you want to do a more specific search, you can do this by going to the Crew List, where you can search by Date and Department/Rank.

Vessel Search
All searches must include a minimum of 'Vessel Name' and 'Date of Sailing'.
Vessel Name Search
Enter the Vessel name. Leave out prefixes such as LNG, MS, MV, RMS, SS, TT eg. If searching for MV Golar Petrosun, enter a search only for Golar Petrosun. Searches can also be conducted using only part of a vessels name, but you must identify the missing name segment by ticking the relevant box.
If only part of a vessel name is entered without a box ticked no results will be returned. eg. If searching for the vessel Golar Petrosun, enter only Golar and tick the right hand box indicating the missing part of the name, or enter Petrosun and tick the left hand box indicating the missing part of the name.
Date of Sailing
Select a time period during which you served on the vessel. If you have sailed during more than one decade with the vessel, then search again using the second date. eg. If you served on the vessel in 1986, select 1980-1989. When building your profile multiple decades can be selected for each vessel.
Advanced Option - Vessel Type
Only select a 'Vessel Type' to help refine multiple search results. eg. Select the relevant category, such as Tanker when multiple same name results are returned. This will eliminate all other vessel types from your search.

How do I find out an answer to a question?
To find out the answer to a question, the first thing to do is to look at the contents page of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) list and see whether the question has been answered for you. If not, then please send a message to Crew 2 Crew. You can contact Crew 2 Crew directly by selecting the Contact Us option at the top of the website. Then complete the online message and click Send Message.
