Air Controller strikes cause havoc as Irish airports shut

Dublin Airport was one of three airport effected by the trade union strike action over disputes with new technology projects. Up to 20,000 passengers have faced disruption as air traffic controllers staged a four-hour walk out. Meetings were held by the trade union, Impact, following the deferral of a number of controllers from Dublin and Shannon Airports for failing to cooperate with the introduction of new technology projects. US to send thousands of Marines to Haitian earthquake relief

The United States is sending another 4,000 sailors and marines to Haiti following criticisms that President Barrack Obama went back on his promise of intensive help and involvement from the US government. The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit and USS Nassau Amphibious Ready Group would "significantly" increase the ability to quickly provide aid, the navy said.
